When I was in boot camp, we weren’t allowed to listen to music. Throughout, I tried to relive tunes in my head. As other music faded, I always remembered this song, by Pops, down to its last breathtaking moment.

This reminds me of when we went to my sisters and listened to jazz the whole way back.
I remember that too. We listened to some Louis on the way back, maybe this song, and probably Dippermouth Blues as well. We also listened to Coltrane’s last live, though that was a pretty bad choice I made.
